The wood we use, Zebrawood, originates from Central and West Africa, especially from countries such as Cameroon, Congo or Gabon. Its scientific name is Microberlinia brazzavillensis. This wood stands out for its striking appearance, which makes it unique and very decorative. It is also a resistant and suitable quality wood, which is why it is used in Crann.

The sapwood is whitish in colour, the heartwood is golden in colour and has numerous brown streaks that give it a zebra skin-like appearance, hence its name. It is of interlaced and slightly interlaced fibre, semi-hard and resistant to fungi and insects with exceptional mechanical properties that allow our unique Crann manufacturing process to create superb products that are trend-setting.

We mainly get our hands on old flooring which would end up in a dump or the side of the road. This is honestly too beautiful not to make something truly unique from it!

You will notice that sometimes we do not have items in stock due to high demand thereof on the Crann website. Sometimes causes us to deplete our woods resources that can be difficult to find such as oak, walnut or red sandalwood, so we have to use Zebrawood until we get some and not stop Crann's unique manufacturing process. All items we offer come with a lifetime guarantee! Especially those made from Zebrawood. Want to be part of the fantastic Crann story? Join the adventure, get your Crann item now!
